Reveille

I have been feeling a little under the weather this week. A yucky sore throat that won’t go away, a weird cough that only comes at night and general tiredness. Therefore I have not woken up early a single day this week. No 5:15-workout-then-shower-before-I-get-the-kids-up. No, not even just a plain old shower-before-I-get-the-kids-up. I just need every morsel of sleep that I can wrangle. So when my alarm clock went off at 6 am (just enough time to take a shower–I was feeling optimistic last night when I set my clock.) I wasn’t surprised that I was feeling so sluggish. That’s kind of how it’s been going all week. Then I walked into the bathroom and checked the clock. What the heck??? Those darn babies! They’ve been playing with my alarm clock again!

It was really 4:45. So did I go back to bed? No (Too wide awake by that point). Did I work out? (Duh, I’m sick, remember! I didn’t want to make my body angry by working out in my fragile state!) I just caught up on all my blog reading and other such internet time-wasting.

I have plenty of time for a lovely scalding-hot shower now. (And time to shave my legs even!) Good thing since I’m booked solid for all the boring class parties/concerts over at the school today. (A boring class party? Like there’s ever been a fun class party.)

  1. Ah the ol’ kids mess with the alarm clock trick, classic. That is really funny. I was pretty sure that I was the only one that had been a victim of that nasty game, but I will say that you are way better than I am, I totally would have marched my droopy eyes right back to the bed.

I thought that you might have had some kind of giant breakfast spread for the family with all that extra time on your hands. I am happy to see that you are just as addicted to the computer as I am.

  2. Early morning workouts? Seriously? Geez. I go to bed at 10 and have to bribe myself out of bed at 6:15am with coffee or some other treat.

Are you just a morning person? Do you go to bed at 7?

  3. I’m not sure if you got us sick or we got you sick or if it’s just coincidence. But you’re describing me exactly over the last week. And guess what? Strep.
