The Village Halloween

I have a big Halloween Village.  I know, CHEESY!  But I looooove Halloween.  And I just couldn’t resist the siren call of cute, overpriced, plastic skeletons that move.  (Here is the entire product display at a store in Chicago. Mine is not nearly this over the top, but you get the idea.)

Last year I didn’t even bother setting up the village.  Ada and Jasper were on a full toddler-induced rampage.  No item was safe around them.  But this year I’m wondering if they are obedient enough to leave my stuff alone.  Do I risk it?  I’ll be furious if they break anything, but I also don’t want to leave it all packed up again.  The older kids have been begging to get everything out.

What would you do?

  1. There are actual real people out in the world that don't like Halloween. I know, stupid. They don't like ghosts, witches and scaring their children. They decorate with HARVEST PUMPKINS of all things! Dreadful.

  2. You really must put it out. Good luck. Very cute though! I'm impressed you're thinking Halloween decor before September's half over!

  3. I must say, I love Halloween too. I'm already jonesing to set mine up and shop for new stuff.

Can you find somehwere up high where they won't touch it?

p.s. Are you ever going to post pictures of your new floor???

  4. Holy cow…pull it out! Don't let Shane see it though, because Halloween is his FAVORITE holiday and I'm pretty sure he would want one!

  5. I think that I would put it out, I mean if Halloween is your favorite then by all means go all out. I think that your kids will mind you and not touch it.

  6. I would totally put it out! Just pick a high spot where you think little fingers can't destroy.

I didn't think it was possible to find someone who loved Halloween as much as I do! I can't wait to see your decor! I dig mine out Oct 1 (and I'm already counting down the days!) 🙂

  7. I think you should go for it. My sister-in-law has that set and I am so jealous of it!

PS We are in Austin and LOVING IT! I am so excited. I need to find out my husbands schedule for Thursday, but would you be able to still do lunch maybe?

Also, where in CP should we be looking. I don't think I have seen the best neighborhoods.
