Makeup Monday-Concealer

Concealer is probably the cosmetic item I write about the most. I’ve got pretty dark circles under my eyes and they are the bane of my existence. Even if I’m just running to the store at midnight or going to workout, I don’t leave the house without concealer.

When I was younger, there was not much of an issue. I just needed something with good coverage and that was the end of the story.  But now that I’m older and the skin under my eyes is not so spectacular anymore, I have to be concerned with coverage AND how it will wear: will it settle into the lines, will it make the skin look crepey and old?

Liquid concealer definitely looks better with aging skin. The thicker the concealer the more it will migrate into lines. If you’re 25, no problemo. But now that I’m closer to 50 than 40 (aaagh!), liquid concealer is where it’s at for me. Sadly, liquid generally doesn’t cover quite as well.

I’ve been using NYX concealer, which I’ve liked quite a lot.  I was running low so I went to the brand new Ulta that just opened near me. If you’ve never been to an Ulta when it’s opened, it’s magnificent; everything is in stock! At the new Ulta there are also testers of everything, even the drugstore brands. This is the greatest thing ever! I always felt bad opening products, but not as bad as buying a color that is all wrong.

Anyway, I was perusing the Ulta house brand makeup, when I saw a newish product called Full Coverage Concealer.  It looked promising (yay for testers!) so I bought it. I looove it!

It’s a liquid so the settling and crepiness is kept to a minimum. And the coverage is the best I’ve found in a liquid. I’m pretty impressed. At $9 it seems a bit expensive for being an in-store brand, but it’s much cheaper than the $28 I was paying for Cargo concealer.

Give it a try and tell me what you think!

I don’t get paid or get anything free for my reviews. It’s only my opinion which I have all on my own!
